  Third Trip. We had Tea with Eleanor then rode our bikes for an hour on the island. Fun, warm and beautiful views.

  A great slice of history, but when I visited in April, 2017, the park was not officially open for the season yet. The homestead was in disrepair, sad to say, with several windows boarded up, the front porch is total disrepair and the front door boarded up as well. The grounds and view were beautiful and I was able to peek into several windows. Worth the trip, but wish it was open for a longer season so some of us could avoid the crowds as I prefer.

  This was an unexpected stop on our trip, but it was a highlight. Allison, our tour guide, was the best part. She was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, funny and enthusiastic! My fiancee and I loved this park and hope to see more of it on our next trip when we have more time. Thanks for the great memories, Allison!
